Or find out how it works

Though many organisations know their buildings could operate more energy efficiently, the up-front cost of upgrading or the lack of technical expertise can put them off.

That’s where an Energy Performance Contract (EPC) can make a big difference by funding improvements that can reduce energy consumption.

Using our resources, we can create bespoke contracts that tackle your buildings’ energy efficiency challenges and give you guaranteed energy savings. Most importantly, we can do that without the need for you to make an upfront capital investment.

It’s a solution that minimises your risks and will improve the performance of your buildings and equipment while giving you a guaranteed return.

What are the benefits of an Energy Performance Contract?

  • Cost reduction

EPCs are designed to reduce energy expenditure by completely renewing (or significantly improving) energy and water assets.

  • Ongoing savings guaranteed

Once the improvements are implemented, the savings are ongoing and continue even after the payback period is complete.

  • Environment improving

Because EPCs focus on physical improvements, they help to improve building performance in areas like lighting, heating, cooling, ventilation and water supply – making the whole environment more comfortable for your staff.

  • Minimising risk

Because there are no up-front capital costs, EPCs offer a ‘risk transfer’ solution which is further enhanced by energy saving guarantees.

  • Reputation enhancing

EPCs are a strategic commitment to sustainability. They’ll help to reduce your organisation’s carbon footprint and improve its reputation for social responsibility.

Cool ideas mean big savings

Although The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead was purpose-built in 2009, just a few years after it opened, its management team chose to fund upgrades through a bespoke energy performance contract.

With electricity consumption and cost savings guaranteed, the solution required exceptional energy saving expertise from the start.

Maintaining a great indoor skiing experience all year round is an energy intensive business. Building a clear picture of how energy was being used required a ‘deep dive’ into the centre’s existing energy data. That was then followed by an intensive site audit to gain a complete understanding of the building’s design and construction – particularly its lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration plant.

Our comprehensive solution generated average annual savings of 12.7% with guaranteed savings of £75,000 across the contract period.
